Event

World Day for Laboratory Animals

At David Otieno Protected email address

22nd April 2006 - the event starts at 00:00.

It is essential to reserve a place by booking this event - please do not just turn up as there may not be space for you.

Description

Oxford University have re-commenced the building of a new primate facility which if they finish will mean a tortuous death imposed (brute force) on millions of intelligent animals, and the propagation of an outdated pharmaceutical testing approach which costs hundreds of human lives anually (through adverse drug reactions) and hampers the development of cures to debilitating human diseases. Transport is being provided, all that will be asked of you is to walk around Oxford city centre possibly with a placard. Numbers required. Even if you are not normally the demo type, perhaps you could make it to this one. Tickets are on sale (£5 unwaged, £7 waged) at the sumac centre, the screaming carrot, the natural health food company (on Mansfield road), the crocus cafe in lenton, the alley cafe, or I can get you one. The event is on Saturday the 22nd of April. David http://www.speakcampaigns.org.uk/news/20060312worldday.php
